For Tradespeople + Apprentices

We place people, not resumes.

Tell us your trade and your ticket. Upload your resume.

Edmonton-based. Alberta-focused. We confirm your resume.

For Journeypersons

Red Seal journeypersons

Your ticket is worth something here.

We don't lump certified journeypersons in with general labour. Your Red Seal represents years of work and serious skill. It will show in your rate and in the roles we send your way.

What we place

  • Oilfield plant maintenance and turnaround roles
  • Industrial and commercial construction in Edmonton
  • Instrumentation and electrical for energy sector projects
  • Short-rotation and long-term contract roles

What we need from you

  • Current tickets. Red Seal and safety certs
  • A reference from at least one site supervisor you've worked under
  • Honest availability, rotation preference, location, notice period
  • DL current abstract

For Apprentices

Apprentices

Looking for a sponsoring employer? This is the right place.

The completion gap

"Half of Alberta's apprentices never complete their certification. The most common reason isn't failing an exam. It's because they cannot find an employer who will actually sponsor them through the next level."

We specialise in matching apprentices with contractors who want to progress you, not just use you as cheap labour at your current level indefinitely. There's a difference, and we know which employers are which.

What we do for apprentices

  • Match you with a sponsoring employer who has a track record of actually progressing people
  • Explain where you are in the Alberta apprenticeship system and what the path forward looks like
  • Tell you what a good sponsor arrangement looks like. We give you questions to ask before you sign on
  • Stay in touch as you progress

To register, we'll need

  • Your trade and current apprenticeship level (1st through 4th year)
  • Your ABST registration number
  • Preferred work location and rotation preference
  • When you're available to start

Note on block training

We understand that apprentices sometimes can't take a pay cut to attend block training during busy stretches. We factor this into matching. We flag contractors who support you taking your blocks.

Just arrived?

New to Alberta?

A lot of tradespeople are making the move to Alberta right now. If you've come from another province or from overseas, you already have the skills. What you might not have is local knowledge: which contractors are reliable, which ones to avoid, and how Alberta's system works. That's what we offer.

Out-of-province Red Seal

Most Red Seal endorsements transfer directly to Alberta. We’ll walk you through the process with the Alberta Board of Skilled Trades if yours is one of the exceptions.

Internationally trained tradespeople

ABST’s Recognized Credential Program assesses international trade qualifications. We can point you to the right starting point and work around your current status.

Safety tickets

H2S Alive, WHMIS, and Fall Protection are required on most Alberta sites. If you don’t have them yet, we’ll tell you where to get them before your first placement.

To register, tell us

  • Your home province or country
  • Your trade and current certification level
  • When you arrived (or plan to arrive) in Alberta
  • Whether you need help with credential recognition

Indigenous tradespeople + apprentices

Dedicated placements. Real connections.

We work with Indigenous apprentices and journeypersons across Edmonton and Alberta. We have active relationships with Indigenous trades networks and organisations including Trade Winds to Success in Edmonton. And we work with contractors who have genuine Indigenous procurement commitments in their project agreements, meaning they're actively looking for qualified Indigenous tradespeople, not just ticking a box.

  • Tell us your trade, level, and any community or treaty area affiliation
  • We match you to contractors with relevant project agreements
  • We’ll be straight with you about what’s available, what the rates are, and what the site culture is like before you commit
  • Apprentices: the sponsorship matching we do for all apprentices applies here too

Women in trades

Your trade is your credential. We place on skill.

We're connected to Women Building Futures, NAIT's women-in-trades programs, and contractors who have track records of inclusive site culture. The registration process is the same as for any tradesperson. Same form, same matching, same standards.

What we add is knowledge of which sites are genuinely welcoming and which ones are not worth your time. If you want us to factor site culture into your matching, just say so when you register. We will.
